In a laboratory, a child is the object of a mysterious experiment. Aided by a robotic prosthesis – or is it the other way round? – the child receives sense data from our world: the sound of water, the feeling of the sun, courage, dreams. What does an AI need to feed on to push the limits of human abilities?

Professor Masahiko Inami of the Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the University of Tokyo is working on a project entitled "Inami Jizai-Body", which aims to use technology to overcome the limits of the human body and thus present a new vision of the world. But is the expansion of the body also the expansion of the brain? Maiko Endo's short film is a joyful cinematic adaptation of this study on the impact of sensations and emotions on robotics. In the form of a 3.0 treasure hunt, a boy robot builds a body, a teenager lost in the forest sends him information about the sentient world, and a little girl guides them while wearing a VR helmet. The film transcends, at a child's level, the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds. By mixing frame types and formats, it blurs the lines separating viewpoints and offers an unusual experience of physical expansion.
