After having revealed what goes on behind the scenes in gold mining with Dirty Gold War, Daniel Schweizer tackles another issue that could tarnish Switzerland with a new scandal: the practices of commodity dealers. Much of this global trade is steered by companies established in Zug or Geneva, and 20% to 30% of the commodities traded in the world are done so by Swiss companies. They are known for the low taxes that they pay and for their disregard of the environmental policies in effect in the countries of extraction.

Through a field survey conducted in all four corners of the world, Trading Paradise reveals the underside of these activities, alerts the public and opens the necessary debate of the ethical responsibility that these companies have in the context of globalised neo-liberalism.
