Louise Mootz grew up in the 20th arrondissement
of Paris, between the Stalingrad and Belleville neighbourhoods. In this film full of knowing energy specific to her generation, the director films her best friends, captured as tender and wild Amazons who face their desires and their condition as women.

Night falls on Paris. Time to let some steam off. Bonnie, Dounia, Solveig and Héloïse prowl around in Eastern Paris with a devil-may-care attitude. They are in their twenties and do not want to abide by the rules of the adult world. Filmed by their best friend and accomplice Louise, they roam through the nocturnal Parisian landscape like a mobile feast. “I grew up in the 20th district of Paris, between Stalingrad and Belleville. I decided to film my best friends in our post teenage years, as we all question ourselves and transform”, recalls director Louise Mootz. “These young urban fighters struggle with the difficulty of being a woman today. These sisters of mine are wild and smart. I want them to be heard as I believe they represent the spirit and diversity of our generation”. Jungle is a film that literally burns with unbridled energy. The gaze of the young filmmaker celebrates the strength and the sheer chutzpah of these young girls that take the world by storm. Louise Mootz directs Jungle with flair and sensitivity thus revealing an extremely promising observational talent.
