In the United States, Chuck just met Harmony, his future companion, in a robotic factory. On the other side of the world, in Tokyo, the android Pepper takes care of grandmother Sakurai, on the request of her son, who is concerned that she is too lonely. In both cases, robots are acting like independent beings, thus shaking up all the preconceptions about the relationships between humans and machines–revealing the accelerated evolution of a technology that may pose certain ethical problems. Isa Willinger presents the portrait of a hypothetical future incorporating robots into our daily life. A future that is no longer distant and no longer has the appearance of science-fiction. With humour and intelligence, the director films the development of these relationships between androids and humans to articulate certain transcendental questions that are part of the issue of new technologies. Is the difference between robots and humans about to disappear? Hi, AI explores the near-future hypothesis of a cyborg humanity with finesse.
