Monumentum

Fadi Yeni Turk proposes a passionate rereading of contemporary Middle Eastern history, from the point of view of the statuaries that adorn its different spaces. Exploring his native Lebanon, as well as Iraq, Egypt and Tunisia, the filmmaker uses the static shot as a moment to stop and analyse the competition between narratives of remembrance, which write an official history in light of the issues of the present.
