The Norwegian Film Institute, operating under the Ministry of Culture, plays a pivotal role in supporting and promoting films, series, and games, driving the creative industry forward. Norwegian documentary filmmaking has for the past ten years been through a remarkable transformation, with its influence extending far beyond national borders. At VdR–Industry, we are excited to spotlight exceptional works-in-progress from Norway, showcasing the creativity and storytelling prowess of both emerging filmmakers and established voices in the field.

- Submission Deadline: Tuesday 21 January 2025
- Final Selection of projects: Early February 2025
- Norwegian Previews in Nyon: 8 April 2025
- Each project by a Norwegian filmmaker or a filmmaker based in Norway must be submitted by a production company headquartered in Norway.
- Producers may submit one or more projects. If they submit multiple projects, each project must come from a different author.
- All submission forms must be filled out in English including additional written materials.
- Audiovisual materials should include English subtitles if in another language.
- Incomplete submissions or submissions entered after the deadline may not be accepted. However, Visions du Réel will work hard to ensure that you can submit updated materials up until the time your project is assessed.
There is no fee to submit.
