A car aficionado, film director Paulo Carneiro travels 2 000 kilometres to meet car enthusiasts of the Portuguese community in exile. All kinds of unusual garages and car parks open up to him through the prism of this shared passion, bringing together those for whom having a car means much more than just a means of transport. Genuine stories of love and friendship accompany the exiled men and women, who seem to find once more a territory of their own through these cars. The car thus becomes a way of tackling questions of identity and community. Paulo Carneiro directs his film from the inside, becoming one of the main characters, simultaneously protagonist and director. Through pop and urban aesthetics, magnifying and at times personifying these unique cars, the filmmaker puts himself on the line in an atypical first feature-length film that paves the way for a career going from zero to 60, in the company of his camera and his Toyota Celica!
