This second “European film” is a melancholic journey undertaken by Vincent Dieutre and his godson Itvan, through Tübingen, Dresden, Weimar and Berlin and the landscapes of the German ‘Mitteleuropa’, bathed by the performance of Schubert’s Winterreise: a one-way transmission between a hyperconscious grown man and an adolescent who can conjugate history only in the present or in the future.
