The Maître du Réel Award goes to Swiss director Richard Dindo, one of the most famous documentary filmmaker in Switzerland and Europe, will receive the award. Retrospective of his work at Cinémathèque suisse Lausanne during the month of May 2014.
20/45 | 2014: a double commemoration!
Developing our cinematographic offer and welcoming our audience in friendlier spaces: these are the efforts that Festival international de cinéma Nyon makes to celebrate its 45 years of existence and its 20 year under the name Visions du Réel, from April 25 to May 3 2014. What is new for our double anniversary: Prix Maître du Réel to Richard Dindo – a prize acknowledging a documentary filmmaker of worldwide fame.
His films were shown in the whole world, including retrospectives in the U.S, France, Germany, Canada and Argentina. He directed 34 films. During the Festival, a retrospective of his works will be organized, as well as his very personal cinema lesson. During the entire month of May, La Cinémathèque suisse in Lausanne will screen all of his works.
Richard Dindo will receive his career Award, the Sesterce d’or – Prix Maître du Réel, on April 29, 2014, at the official anniversary celebration organized under the high patronage of Ruth Dreifuss.
In collaboration with the Cinémathèque suisse (Lausanne), Visions du Réel On Tour presents a great retrospective of Richard Dindo’s work during the month of May 2014.
