The queens Amber la Garce and Moon are getting ready for another big night out. They carefully put on their make-up and glamorous clothes while chatting and gossiping unrelentingly. They have a great night ahead in the club and want to look as fantastic and bombastic as possible. While they chit-chat away, Amber and Moon discover some secrets they did not previously share with each other and this leads to a furious confrontation. They almost split when a bunch of drunks begin to provoke them. The two friends stand as one and rebuke the macho bunch. The drunkards retreat while Amber’s and Moon’s laughter echoes in the streets. The night is still young and the club awaits. Youssef Youssef composes a fine-tuned character study about gender that echoes elements of Cassavetes and film noir. The immersive approach allows an extraordinary close-up guerrilla style portrait that is as warm and confrontational as it is political. A film that blurs in an extremely creative way the boundaries between documentary and autofiction.
