Erpatak is a Hungarian village of 1,750 souls, whose mayor, a genuine provincial Ubu, introduced an “anti-liberal” social model focused on the “worship of order” in 2008. Benny Brunner directs a “Persian Letter” sent from Orban’s Hungary, coldly analysing the apparatus of brutal populism, the potential future of European political aboulia.
