General Idi Amin Dada, President of Uganda from 1971 to 1979, was renowned for his mythomania and for his regular breaches of human rights. His visionary madness and his very personal conception of power are clearly illustrated in this film, which, by giving its protagonist free reign, becomes, in light of history, an irresistible portrait with tragi-comic undertones.
