Keren is a performer, filmmaker, and activist. At 20, she left Israel to grow as an artist and as a person. After eight years in Europe, spent both missing and avoiding her country, she feels the need to return to the contradictions she left behind and begins a visual diary of the troubled times she is navigating. She joins the rallies against Netanyahu, where even the protesters fail to see the connection between democracy and occupation. She volunteers with Palestinian families, picking olives and confronting aggressive settlers. In dialogue with her mother and grandmother, she questions how one can endure living there. She meets Shir again—an idealist and tireless pacifist—and falls in love. Then the October 7 attack occurs. The war and genocide begin. Violence pours from every screen. As a Jewish citizen, facing the horror unleashed by Hamas and the IDF, she finds herself in an excruciating position, grappling with fear and anger, with guilt and despair. She searches for the words to express it and delivers the most brutally honest monologue. The fracture has become a fatal wound, and it keeps deepening.
