June’s grandmother, suffering from Alzheimer’s, has lost her memory. This woman from Mauritius, full of character and conviction, liked to say that “Creoleness means not having anything left, having to reinvent everything”. Through a subtle work of black-and-white animation, close to engraving, June digs, like an archaeologist, in order to reveal a Creole family identity through buried memories.
