Sitting in the back of a taxi late at night, we take a walk on the wild side with a driver recounting a past sexual encounter with a female customer. As the different narratives unfold, the night reveals a universe filled with the fantasies and scents of previously unconfessed stories; the cinematography conveys impressions of the night, peppered by colourful and abstract touches, hinting at a powerful sensuality.
Sitting in the back of taxis late at night, in the privacy this situation affords us, we take a walk on the wild side with a driver who recounts one of his past sexual encounters with a female customer. As the different drivers' narratives unfold, the night reveals a universe filled with the fantasies and scents of previously unconfessed stories, where time stands still. And in the anonymity made possible by the dark and the layout of the taxi itself, certain cracks appear, moments of distraction that the drivers have experienced, and a haunting fear of becoming lost in the darkness. Their backgrounds, ages and life stories are hinted at by their voices. These voices sketch out the distinctive atmosphere of the night, with its mix of dampness and opaqueness, a world apart. The extremely careful camera work shifts focus between details of the vehicles’ interiors and impressions of the night outside, peppered by colourful and abstract touches, suggesting a powerful sensuality.
