Zoran lives on the streets of Belgrade. At night, he roams from one place to another, looking for a warm spot, a cigarette, a drink. Zoran looks exactly like your average homeless guy. But take a closer look and you will learn a story that has never been told before. Through Zoran’s words we discover another side of a bigger tragedy that has radically changed people and countries alike.
People may not notice him, but Zoran Papovic lives on the streets of Belgrade. At night he roams from one place to another, looking for a warm spot, a cigarette, people to talk with. Zoran looks exactly like your average homeless guy. But take a closer look and you will discover a story that has never been told before. Zoran is the offspring of a wealthy family. His parents were diplomats. He used to live abroad. But then the war came and turned everything upside down. Nowadays no one remembers who Zoran was and what his family used to be. The war has erased every memory of people and stories. Director Marko Grba Singh, who proudly states that he attended Pink Floyd’s last gig in London in 1988, follows Zoran through the night. Listens to him. Respectfully films him while always keeping the right distance. Through Zoran’s words we experience another side of a bigger tragedy that has changed people and countries alike in a way that no one could have imagined. Kasno Smo Se Sreli is a film about the remains of history. The image of what refuses to be pushed away.
