Walking with Jaques Dutoit

Jaques Dutoit influenced the cultural life of the city of Biel as a director of theatre and experimental cinema, teacher of Greek language and school principal. A beauty idealist, engaged in cultural production, film critic and above all devoted preacher of cinema, Jaques is approaching his 85 years, but he does not stop to create. Always remaining aside from the mainstream film industry, he enjoyed liberty of producing and directing more than twenty films achieving a genuine artistic expression through the cinematic art. This portrait of him, with him and partly directed by him, traces his activities trough his films, some conversations with his artist friends in Paris and his former students in Biel. By means wondering through the streets of Paris and more intimate sequences shot in his apartment in Biel, nearly blind Jaques looks at his past and shares with us his thoughts about life, culture, freedom, beauty and cinema.
