The Weight of Snow

In the far south of Chilean Patagonia, ageing gauchos known as puesteros live and work alone across vast private ranches caring for land and livestock they do not own. Filmed over several years, The Weight of Snow offers an intimate portrait of men whose identities and livelihood are bound to a disappearing way of life. Set against the backdrop of an ongoing drought, they wait for the long-anticipated snowfall, a moment that promises relief, but also a reminder of how little control they have over what lies ahead.

Film is currently at Rough Cut with intention to be complete in 2nd half of 2026 in order to premiere in 2027.
