Querida Mamá

Jahayra always dreamed of becoming a mother. That dream carried her from a coastal town in Ecuador to a high-rise flat on London’s Aylesbury Estate. Now, as the estate faces demolition and her family is forced into uncertainty, she begins writing letters to her mother.

In these letters, Jahayra reflects on the weight of starting over: the night shifts, the fragile sense of home, the guilt — but through it all, the love for her children, her reason for carrying on.

Set against the backdrop of a vanishing community, Querida Mamá is an intimate and poetic portrait of motherhood and migration, a story of love that endures across distance.
