Brace for Oblivion

Filmed over three-and-a-half years in and out of Ukraine’s front lines, the film follows seven ordinary citizens who volunteered to defend their country after Russia’s full-scale invasion. With sustained access to zero-line combat zones, the film offers an immersive, ground-level account of the psychological and emotional cost of resistance and resilience.

Brace For Oblivion centers on the internal experience of war, exploring what happens to the body, mind and soul when everyday life becomes a form of survival. Xackery Irving's camera tracks the soldiers as they engage in the extreme horrors of open-ended combat and return home to reconnect with the precious elements of their lives they are devoted to protecting.
