Visions du Réel and the City of Nyon invite you to start the festival with the traditional Pre-Opening evening, open to local residents and those from the surrounding areas. On this occasion, Giulia Montineri will present her film #SainteJulie in world premiere at the Théâtre de Marens as well as at the Grande Salle in Nyon.

Synopsis

On 3 March 2019, Julie Douib was murdered by her ex-husband in Corsica. It was a predictable femicide – the man was already known to be dangerous. Why was this murder not prevented ? Beyond this particular case, #SainteJulie reveals the mechanisms of everyday misogyny – which is always deadly – at work in society. A comprehensive investigation, conducted with intelligence and great sensitivity.
