On Thursday 12 November, Documentaire sur grand écran and Visions du Réel invite you to the Forum des images in Paris to discover two award-winning films from the Festival’s 2026 edition.
As part of Doc&Doc, discover two award-winning films from the 57th edition of the Festival: From Dawn to Dawn (La Nuit de l’enfance) by Xisi Sofia Ye Chen and Alea Jacarandas by Hassen Ferhani.
Where does the desire to make films come from? In Xisi Sofia Ye Chen’s From Dawn to Dawn, a brother and sister grow up watching the same VHS tapes: one will become a gangster, the other a filmmaker. Years later, cinema offers a way to revisit their shared history and explore their diverging paths. In Hassen Ferhani’s Alea Jacarandas, a father becomes the starting point for a more open-ended exploration, a way of embracing the world, its chance encounters and its movements, all the better to reinvent it.
