Along an old country road, where an ancient legend of the sea, wolves, and men lingers, three generations of women come together to face a deep sadness. Something is changing: the time has come to remember buried dreams, mend broken ties, consult the tarot, free themselves from their fate and bring the old legend back to life. A magical and empowering fable.
The film opens in a different era – holiday footage, perfect light, happy faces. Cut. On an old road in Piedmont, embroiled in mythology and dust, three generations of women find themselves facing the same wound: “In our family, we've all been disappointed by love”. Filmmaker Bianca, her mother Eva and her grandmother summon an ancient legend of the sea, men and wolves to understand that which, in their family, seems doomed to repeat itself. The sentence must be broken and the women freed to bring the wolves back. We unearth memories and objects, and we repair them as we repair ourselves. We mend the wedding dress slashed in a fit of rage, we rev the engine of a wrecked Fiat 500 and we consult the tarot cards, suggesting that nothing is immutable. This feminist fable is an ode to the wild, an attempt to save what is disappearing and to reinvent destiny.
