During his visit to Nyon in 2024, he barely dared to mention this first feature film project. We awaited it nervously. Now, we are not disappointed. During a professional lull, the filmmaker enrols in a Hallmark film-making workshop, creating original content known for its saccharine love stories. The workshop outlines the essential elements for success: don’t mention Jesus, never cut away from a kissing scene, shoot in beautiful settings… a formula that John Wilson decides to apply to the story of concrete. What might at first seem like a conceptual joke turns into a hilarious and surprisingly profound exploration of American life.
