In this haunting film, the bloodshed carried out by the Israeli army in Gaza is revealed through the eyes of three courageous American surgeons of Jewish, Palestinian and Pakistani backgrounds. During the illusory ceasefire at the beginning of 2025, they return to serve at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, one of the last hospitals still operating in the Strip. American Doctor provides a stark account of the horrors of genocide.
The bloodshed carried out by the Israeli army in Gaza through the eyes of three brave American surgeons, who had previously been deployed to Palestine and during the illusory ceasefire at the beginning of 2025 returned to serve at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, one of the last hospitals still operating in the Strip. Dr Perlmutter is Jewish, which does not prevent him from using the harshest words when interviewed. Dr Sidhwa, son of Pakistani parents, is also very active advocating on social media. Dr Ahmad comes from a Palestinian family and is concerned about his children's future in Trump's USA. As if their work on the ground were not enough, they also engage in exhausting campaigning back home, trying to make both politicians and citizens aware of the disaster, and claiming the right to the minimum conditions necessary to do their job. They have seen things unlike anything they have experienced before and survived missiles aimed at their medical facilities. They now bear witness to crimes and horrors on behalf of their 1,700 colleagues killed in Gaza.
