Madeleine After Thirty

Six-year-old Madeleine counts up to thirty in her bedroom, as fragments of the voices of adults in conflict reach her. In order to escape, the little girl walks on a beach, listens to a shell, and wanders along an invisible wire like a tightrope walker, on the edge of enormity. With a rare modesty, Justine Fabre captures her lonely heroine, who invents a bearable world when her own collapses.
