Two sisters chat online: Fernanda has remained in Brazil where she took care of their father until his death, while Mariana, having emigrated to the UK, is suffering because she wasn’t there. The directors film this shared grieving process with decency in Dorsal, a term designating both the long-distance telecommunications network and the ocean, the ambiguous distance that separates as much as it repairs.
