The Casino in Baden-Baden is a sacred place for those adepts at the powerful ritual of gambling. We float through the gambling halls, discovering gestures, colours, textures. Shot in 3D and with an extremely accurate sound design, the film displays an impressive technique, in an attempt to portray the slightly distorted and enhanced sensorial perception that this place both offers and requires.

The Casino in Baden-Baden is a sacred place for the adepts of the powerful ritual of gambling. We smoothly enter this temple through the back door, following the path of the “ministers”: cashiers, croupiers, table inspectors and managers. We slowly float through the gambling halls, discovering colours, textures and the almost mystical environment. The camera focuses on highly codified gestures, where extreme self-assurance seems to counterpoint the unpredictability of the games. A cocoon-like atmosphere, designed to hear the smallest click of the ball spinning on the roulette wheel, or an overstimulation of hypnotizing lights and forms, in the slot machines area of the “dome”. “Once only, to the moon and back, get me a moment of silver out of the sea of eternity”, so goes the song we hear. Shot in 3D with an outstandingly accurate sound design, the film employs an impressive technique and achieves a portrayal of the slightly distorted and enhanced sensorial perception which a casino both offers and requires.
