Sioma is 18 years old. He does not attend school. Suffering for some serious health issues, he depends mostly on his sister Nastea who is two years younger than him. Nastea goes to school but her grades unfortunately are not brilliant at all. Each day they try to struggle through the difficulties of a very harsh life. Growing up in a poor family is not easy. And if your parents are both hopeless alcoholics who beat you for no reason, it is even more difficult. Sioma would like to give his dad some of the beatings back that he takes on a daily basis, while Nastea dreams of going away. Watching the few animals they have on the family farm, they make plans every day for a better life. Director John Donica composes a pictorial and observational poem about the hopes of two young people caught in a situation that seems to offer no way out. Managing to capture the disturbing beauty of two lives lost at the edge of the forest, Donica avoids the temptation of despair and celebrates the dignity of two human beings who have nothing else left but hope.
