Marrakech was in 1940 the hometown to 25.000 Jews, today only about 100 remain. This essay documentary makes an intimate journey into the world of Paulette, one of the last remaining Jews who decided to stay and is reflecting on a universal question: where do you feel at home?Paulette is a retired Jewish hairdresser, living alone in het appartement in Marrakech and has weekly long phone conversations with her granddaughter Kim, who lives in Paris. These affective conversations helps her to deal with her daily life without her family. - Would you like to live in Paris?- No darling, I'd rather live in Morocco.- And yet, many Jews have left Morocco.- Yes, they left, but why? - They went looking for something better, but they didn't find it.- That's life. No one is satisfied with what they have. With his fate.- But everyone's looking for a meaning. - Everyone's looking.- That's right.- Everyone is searching until they feel at home.
