LATITUDES

A non-competitive section (feature films) that aims to reveal a panorama of current documentary practices. Presented at least as Swiss premieres.

OPENING SCENES

A non-competitive section dedicated to first short films or student films, presented as world, international or European premieres. The invited filmmakers present their films as part of the Festival’s official selection and participate in a specially developed programme of industry-related professional activities.

Maître du Réel

Section dedicated to the work of an internationally renown filmmaker, who will be awarded a prize for her/his career. This section includes a retrospective and a masterclass open to the public.

Focus

An overview of contemporary documentary film productions of a Southern or Eastern country, the Focus section is organised by Visions du Réel's Industry and developed in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss fund visions sud est. It includes a selection of films from the guest country and, in addition, the Industry organises panel discussions, a pitching of projects from that same country and coproduction meetings.
