Visions du Réel offers pupils in French-speaking Switzerland the possibility of enjoying the cultural experience of a film festival and discovering high-quality documentaries that are often absent from the big screen.
The Scolaires du Réel offering includes a choice between the screening of a documentary with educational support, a daily pass for the Festival, or an online offering. All of this can be enriched by an expert visiting a class, to work on film analysis with the pupils.
Target group: primary school, secondary school levels I and II
Registration: send an email to email@example.com
Option A: Screening with educational support
Visions du Réel invites pupils to attend screenings of films that have been specially selected for them, in the presence of members of the film crew or guests.
The screening lasts around 90 minutes and consists of three components:
- Presentation of the film by a facilitator (5-10 minutes)
- Screening of the film (60 minutes)
- Facilitator-moderated exchange and discussion between the pupils and the guests (15-20 minutes)
Price: The screening costs CHF 5.00 per pupil, with no charge for the teachers
Option B: School screenings at the festival
Visions du Réel invites pupils to spend a day discovering a selection of documentary films as well as the atmosphere of a film festival. In collaboration with the Festival, the classes can develop their daily film and activity programme based on the following proposals:
- A screening with educational support (option A)
- Films from the official 2022 programming (unveiled in March 2022)
- An opportunity to discuss their experience at the Festival with the head of cultural participation
CHF 15.00 per pupil for a daily Festival pass, including all the offerings listed above. There is no charge for the teachers
Option C: Online platform
If you would rather avoid an excursion and prefer to make the most of our online offering, we can provide you with access to the films on our VdR at School (link) platform available to you.
We can also organise encounters in the classroom within this framework, with an e-director or e-expert to work on film analysis. Just write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
