A word from our Partners

This year, la Mobilière is celebrating its 200th anniversary under the motto “Better together”. As a cooperative, we know that strength lies in unity. We intend to foster dialogue and build community spirit by creating opportunities for engaging in conversations, meeting others and sharing common experiences.

For more than 15 years through our partnership with Visions du Réel, we have pursued our joint belief that culture and the arts forge connections between people and open up new perspectives.

We look forward to sharing memorable moments together sparked by the documentaries at this year’s edition of Visions du Réel.

When the Real illuminates our society

Visions du Réel reminds us how critical documentary filmmaking remains in helping us to understand our time. In 2026, the festival pursues this ambition further by showcasing works that examine our connection to the world, explore contemporary social realities and continually renew and refresh perspectives on reality. Through these films emerge singular voices, with stories that challenge, connect and invite dialogue.

It is a mission that resonates deeply with our own. Every day, and in line with our public service mission, we are committed to reflecting the diversity of human experiences, promoting openness and strengthening social cohesion. Supporting creative documentary filmmaking is not merely a cultural commitment; it is a democratic responsibility.

We are therefore proud to renew our partnership with Visions du Réel and, for the 19th consecutive year, to present the Prix RTS de soutien à la création documentaire (RTS Award promoting creative documentary filmmaking) aimed at encouraging a new generation of filmmakers. This 57th edition also offers the public the opportunity to discover thirteen SSR co-productions, including seven RTS works.

In addition, throughout the year, Visions du Réel-labelled films will remain accessible on Play RTS and Play Suisse, extending the Festival experience beyond the auditoriums. Because now, more than ever, documentary filmmaking helps us to understand the world and our place within it.

Enjoy the festival!

“Seeing comes before words.” — John Berger

This statement resonates especially strongly at Visions du Réel, which in 2026 affirms its essential place as a space for perspective, reflection and freedom.

By welcoming as guest of honour the American filmmaker Kelly Reichardt, whose work revisits the founding myths of American cinema to better reveal their margins, silences and fragilities, the festival celebrates filmmaking defined by attention, restraint and elegance. Filmmaking that lays bare the political, social and human realities of the contemporary world, without spectacle or simplification.

In Nyon, Visions du Réel thus continues to honour a vital commitment: to make visible what is not always seen, and to remind us how essential the acuity and diversity of perspectives remain for cultural and democratic life.

Office fédéral de la culture OFC

Visions du Réel embodies a cinema that seeks to question the world and the ways in which it is evolving. By supporting it, the FOC affirms the importance of a space that invites debate and dialogue. Nyon is where perspectives meet and stories circulate. In a time of tension and uncertainty, these spaces are more vital than ever.

Ville de Nyon

Visions du Réel’s place on the international documentary film scene continues to grow, as demonstrated by the close links between VdR and other major cinema events and the influence enjoyed by the films selected and awarded prizes each year in Nyon.

It is the fruit of the hard work put in by the festival’s incredible team, and the care they take over an engaged, high-quality selection, as well as the ongoing development of the market and, of course, the quality of the welcome accorded to film professionals. Visions du Réel has also succeeded in strengthening its foothold in Switzerland and attracting an ever-increasing number of “amateur” audiences.

Over and above the mediation activities organised to ensure that everyone has access to film, this festival is a particularly attractive meeting place, combining the seriousness of reflection, debate and emotion with the light-heartedness of exchange and celebration.

Ville de Nyon is very proud to support Visions du Réel and wishes you a wonderful festival.
