Visions du Réel and la Mobilière renew their commitment with VdR Next Gen: a label dedicated to young people aged 12 to 26.
We firmly believe that education and raising awareness of high-quality images can be introduced from an early age, offering a window into the world and contributing to personal development. Through the discovery of documentary films and other media, young people have the opportunity to nurture their creativity and strengthen their resilience.
Through a selection of films, meetings, and workshops, we support the new generation in their exploration of cinema and visual creation. Spaces for discussion and exchange are created, allowing young people to sharpen their perspective, broaden their horizons, and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Activities
Reflex competition (12-26 years old)
Since 2015, the Reflex competition challenges youth aged 12 to 26 to make a 3-minute short film on a set topic. Winning entries receive jury and audience awards in Nyon.
Youth Jury (16-21 years old)
Youth Jury casts a fresh look over the short and medium films section.
Cinema Camp (13-15 years old)
Du lundi au mercredi en journée dans le cadre idyllique de la Ferme du Petit Sécheron, les jeunes apprenti·e·s cinéastes imaginent et réalisent un ou plusieurs films sur un thème sociétal de leur choix. Les films sont présentés aux proches en fin de semaine lors d’une projection spéciale au Festival Visions du Réel.
New Generation Days (18-22 years old)
Pour les jeunes passionné·e·x·s de cinéma, qui veulent découvrir des films souvent absents des grands écrans et rencontrer des professionnel·le·x·s de la branche.
