What to do with a legacy that no one wants? At the center of this question is the larger than life Nonna (Grandmother): 80-year-old Rosa. After three decades in Germany among the 14 million migrant “guest workers”, she returned to Southern Italy to build a bed and breakfast. Now widowed, she runs the fading estate alone. Her routines are marked by hardship and the comical clashes with her hard-of-hearing brother aren’t helping. Because her family remained in Germany, modern technology has become her vital lifeline. Her smartphone is a constant companion; frequent video calls bridge the vast distance.

Directed by her grandson, the film observes Rosa’s everyday life through lingering still shots. The story unfolds through her daily chores, phone calls, and interactions revealing a distinctly European family history. It explores the long-term realities of migration, the complex meaning of "home," and the paradox of an aging grandmother who worked all her life only to end up alone.
