VdR–Rough Cut Lab is a workshop that presents a selection of feature length projects at a finishing stage. It is a springboard for creative documentaries that are seeking specific feedback and advice on their most up-to-date rough cut.
The submissions for VdR–Rough Cut Lab 2021 are now closed.
This year, VdR-Rough Cut Lab’s sessions will take place online in a format thought to be immediate and effective as a way to create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
At the same time, with participants’ health and safety as top priorities, we will welcome those who can physically come to Nyon, especially for our individual meetings (thought to be held both online and on-site).
The Rough Cut Lab supports filmmakers in the moment of editing and helps them find the best way to finish their films. Four rough cuts will be screened and discussed together with the film team alongside tutors (experienced editors and industry professionals) during a workshop session. Attending individual meetings allows the project teams to also connect with potential financing and distribution partners.
The Rough Cut Lab is accessible by invitation only.
