Visions du Réel is home to one of the most important film markets in Europe, offering a range of networking and project building opportunities for international film professionals.
For every edition, a complete Industry activities program is held in which a panel of selected professionals treat and discuss the sector's current topics, best production practices and distribution & business models.
Project development activities
The Industry selects and promotes films throughout their various stages of development, giving filmmakers a platform to present their projects to decision-makers and potential partners.
The production, financing and distribution of interactive documentaries and transmedia nonfiction projects are also supported by a project-orientated workshop which aims to enhance the potential and address the challenges of current audiovisual trends and new digital technologies.
Networking and training workshops provide opportunities to expand your professional network and cultivate a deeper understanding of the documentary film industry - all in a relaxed atmosphere. The Who's Who platform provides access to a list of all accredited professionals attending the festival.
The Industry also caters to international and Swiss film students by offering specialised networking opportunities with industry professionals.
The Industry Media Library puts the spotlight on over 400 new European and international documentaries including:
- The 2018 Official Visions du Réel selection
- Films recommended and selected by the Festival's Selection Committee
- Films proposed by producers and sales agents
- Films suggested by external partners and national film centres
