Things to See

Weaving together the memories of former GDR sprinter Ines Geipel, who broke the record for relay (4x100 m) in 1984, and street views of Leipzig, Salomé Ziehli explores the feeling known as “Ostalgie”, i.e. the longing for the former eastern Germany. Thus, the film studies the transformation of the German urban post-socialist space. A haunting ghost story or a collective hallucination.
