In the 2010s, Loznitsa began exploring places marked by the tragedies of the 20th century. Here is the “old” Jewish cemetery in Riga, where more than 1000 Jews killed by the Nazis in the ghetto’s streets and houses were buried. It is now a park dotted with tombstones and frequented by drunks, children and American tourists.
