Visions du Réel unveils the posters of its 52nd edition!

The choice of the photographic triptych of the 52nd edition of Visions du Réel reflects the immobility to which the past year has invited us, inciting us to reappropriate our landscapes. At the same time, these images, which can evoke both reality and fiction, emanate from the French photographer Romain Laprade, who inevitably has an outside view of Switzerland.

Produced by the Genevan studio Schaffter Sahli, the series of visuals features photographs by Romain Laprade, a French photographer based in Paris. After working as a graphic designer in the fashion world, he decided to devote himself entirely to his photographic work.

“Switzerland and its relief offer us unusual points of view and the use of a telephoto lens at this scale gives the landscape the appearance of a miniature model” explains Romain Laprade about the three photographs.

In addition, Visions du Réel is launching a new website to respond to the challenges and forms in which the Festival is now evolving, more responsive, more mobile and resolutely more visual. It is created by DaisyBell (Sacha Béraud).

In this still uncertain period, Visions du Réel works tirelessly to pursue its mission of discovering and screening contemporary non-fiction cinema, in Switzerland and beyond. We are thus preparing a hybrid edition of the Festival that will be held both in person and virtually, and in accordance to the health situation.

As a reminder, Visions du Réel will also pay homage to the French author, filmmaker and screenwriter Emmanuel Carrère by awarding him the prestigious Honor Award (formerly “Maître du Réel Award”).

See you from April 15 to 25, 2021 for the 52nd edition!
