Requiem for a Photographer

Harald Henden (63) has worked as a war photographer for 35 years. Photos of starving infants taking their last breath and the consequences of modern weapons on the human body. He has handled the psychological pressures and physical stress of working in the world’s worst conflict zones. In the present Harald becomes untreatably sick from cancer and we follow his slow and calm acceptance of this fact and a reminiscence of a unique life and career, together with his best friend and doctor, Morten. As Harald puts it: A terrible amount of people out there are caught in bigger tragedies than mine. Harald has let us follow him closely through his final months, a choice he explains with ease. He has been allowed to document people at their most vulnerable, in pain and at the verge of death. Now that the tables have turned, it’s time to balance the scales.
