Men are often haunted by two recurring dreams: the dream of flying and the dream of breathing underwater. Ricardo Montans has set to achieve both dreams.
A former car mechanic, he abandoned his dream of being an engineer to start working, at an early age, as a maintenance diver. After years of fixing and installing things at obscure depths of the Atlantic Ocean, he moved to Honduras and founded the Freediving Caribbean School.
Like Cyrano de Bergerac invented apparatus to reach the moon, or like an inventor from Antiquity, Ricardo has used his construction knowledge to set up a mooring, with it's ropes and polleys, for deep dives of more than 100 meters.
But also, to dive along shark, fish, sunken ships.
What does it take to fly underwater and disappear into the blue abyss?
I see, in Ricardo Montans, the Poet and the Hero: that tireless seeker of new images that can fly to an unknown planet.
