8 April
10:30 - 12:00
Musée du Léman

Discussion in English
We are currently experiencing the spectacular future of societies where the ‘true’ is now only a moment of the false orchestrated by algorithms, a dangerous spiral that threatens our autonomy of judgement. However, documentary filmmakers can crack the dominant narratives and film in the gaps, in a way under the radar. But how can the cinematographic apparatus, by definition artifical, be used to touch on a truth, even a partial one, by distorting it without perverting it? By what means can filmmakers reconcile their artistic vision with questions of ethics and respect for their protagonists ?
Speakers:
Sylvain George (dir. Nuit obscure)
Manuel Abramovich (dir. Croma)
Mariam Bakacho Khatchvani (dir. The Men's Land)
Bani Khoshnoudi (dir. The Vanishing Point)
