A camera is by nature an intrusive instrument that distorts, when it does not provoke a situation of which it claims to produce an indisputable, if not objective, trace. How do the filmmakers of today come to terms with this question, which goes back to the very origins of direct cinema: within the dynamic of a film shoot – first while filming, then while editing – how does one instill the right distance with the protagonists, who become the actors of the sometimes personal stories they are sharing with an anonymous audience?
Participating filmmakers: Clémence Davigo - Les Oubliés de la belle étoile (International Feature Film Competition); Iván Andrés Simonovis Pertíñez - My Father's Prison (International Feature Film Competition); Daniel Kötter - Landshaft (Burning Lights Competition); Pinar Öğrenci - The Avalanche (International Medium Length & Short Film Competition); Yamina Zoutat - Chienne de rouge (National Competition).
