The 57th edition of Visions du R\u00e9el will open on 17 April 2026, in Nyon, in the presence of Oscar-winning filmmaker Laura Poitras<\/a>, and different guests, such as Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The official ceremony will be followed by a screening of Cover-Up,<\/em> the filmmaker’s latest film. The pre-opening, hosted by the City of Nyon and Visions du R\u00e9el, will take place on 16 April. On this occasion, Giulia Montineri will present her film #SainteJulie<\/em> in world premiere.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cover-Up from Laura Poitras<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 57th edition of Visions du R\u00e9el will open on 17 April 2026, in Nyon, in the presence our VdR\u2013Industry Guest, Laura Poitras, Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Nuria Gorrite, State Councillor, Head of the Department of Culture, Infrastructure and Human Resources, Daniel Rossellat, Mayor of Nyon and Carine Bachmann, Director of the Federal Office of Culture (FOC). The official ceremony will be followed by a screening of Cover-Up<\/em>, the latest film by Laura Poitras, presented in the Special Screenings section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synopsis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While unpacking his boxes, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh looks back over his defining investigations: the uncovering of the My Lai massacre, Watergate, the torture at Abu Ghraib. An authentic thriller, this portrait co-directed by filmmaker Laura Poitras, reveals an all-too human man who tirelessly and resolutely fulfilled his role as a counter-power for half a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, Giulia Montineri will present her film #SainteJulie <\/em>in world premiere at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Marens as well as at the Grande Salle in Nyon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synopsis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On 3 March 2019, Julie Douib was murdered by her ex-husband in Corsica. It was a predictable femicide \u2013 the man was already known to be dangerous. Why was this murder not prevented ? Beyond this particular case, #SainteJulie <\/em>reveals the mechanisms of everyday misogyny \u2013 which is always deadly \u2013 at work in society. A comprehensive investigation, conducted with intelligence and great sensitivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
