Where does a film find its origins? In a story that a filmmaker wants to tell, for which she or he will potentially look for protagonists? Or does an encounter with the protagonists inspire the director to build a story around them? At what point does one decide to resort to non-professional actors in order to broaden the spectrum of a narrative? Four filmmakers are invited to discuss the subject by talking about their own films (all part of the Festival’s official selection) and their experiences.
