A bet on youth and opening up new avenues for a new lease of life
Emilie Bujès will be the next Artistic Director of Visions du Réel
Emilie Bujès, 36 years old, will be the next Artistic Director of Visions du Réel, Festival international de cinéma Nyon. At its meeting on 12 December, the Board of the Festival Foundation chose youth and opening up new avenues, by appointing Emilie Bujès out of 37 candidates from all over the world considered by a selection committee. With substantial international experience and strong national roots, the future Artistic Director submitted a serious and original plan for Visions du Réel, promising new impetus. She will take up her post on 1 August 2017, in time to work on setting up the 49th edition of the Festival in 2018.
The Board of the Visions du Réel Foundation is delighted to announce the nomination of Emilie Bujès to the position of Artistic Director of the Festival. She already knows the Festival well and has a solid international experience. This choice, among the many international applications submitted, demonstrates the desire of the Board to ensure the development of the Festival by betting on youth, opening up of new avenues and a new lease of life that Emilie Bujès will bring, while enabling the consolidation of the work successfully put in place by the current Artistic Director Luciano Barisone.
