My God Never Dies

Watashi no kami ha shinanai

  • Daichi Amano

Due to ethnic violence in Myanmar, a young Muslim man fled to Japan seeking for asylum nearly 20 years ago. Now past the age of forty, his application for refugee status has still been turned down by the government, not allowing him any social security benefits in Japan. Deprived of dignity, he devotes his life to Islam. The filming was approved on condition that his face is not exposed.
