ZURITA, YOU WILL SEE NOT TO SEE
ZURITA, VERÁS NO VER
Alejandra Carmona Cannobbio
2018, Chili, 75′
Zurita prepares a new poetic action in the cliffs of Pisagua. There will be 22 sentences projected with light on the rocks of the North coast of Chile, that can only be seen from the sea as night falls.
The documentary explores the poetic actions that Zurita has carried out throughout his life. He has impregnated those actions on his own body, on the body of the earth and the sky. He has had Parkinson's for 17 years now, the deterioration is gradual but it is accelerating at this stage. However, he manages to develop an intense vitality, facing life against the sunset.
For Zurita poetry and body-space is an unbreakable plot. His intimate poems reflect a universal feeling about the history of chilean country and of the world. His poetry is the search for light from the dark. Poems that vanish in geography, as the passage of human beings on Earth. Poems that speaks of the transient and the ephemiral of existence in an incrcreasingly conflictive world.
