A group of Serbians enter a modern countryside house, the owner appears to be absent. They have brought along an English speaking friend, an American woman who would rather stay outside for the time being. The prologue functions as a brief foreshadowing or a kind of prophetic dream. Afterwards the American woman appears in an urban apartment, naked, listening to a man discuss the Book of Revelations. Gradually a minimalist portrait of her forms, through a series of fragmentary encounters. She goes to work in an atelier. There she meets her new Serbian coworker, whom she eventually accompanies to the countryside house. She meets the others inside, among them a capricious young man. Restlessness and inclement weather are countered with alcohol and misguided creative pursuits. Certain situations reach a degree of clarity, others retain their sense of mystery. After sexual experiences with three different men, somewhere in a realm between art and lived life, she steps outside for a walk.
